GIRLS football is on the up in Bromsgrove as a town club looks to form another team.
Meadow Park Girls FC, the only girls club in Bromsgrove, currently has two sides, at U12s and U13s level, playing in the Stourport District Girls League.
Managed by Dave Saville, the U12s, who play seven-a-side, were formed two years ago and last year an U13s 11-a-side team was set up as players moved age groups and new girls joined.
And next season the club hopes to introduce an U14s side as the U13s move up and to cope with demand from younger players.
Parents help run the teams who play on the pitches at Harris Brush Works in Stoke Prior.
Coach Steve Maiden said: "It gives them a chance to play and it the fastest growing sport for girls.
"They don't realise how good they are - if they played themselves from the start of the season, they would thrash themselves."
Training for the 2002/2003 season starts later in the summer and there is also the possibility of qualified Football Association coaches running sessions.
Anyone girls interested in joining the club should call club secretary Dave Clarkson on 01527 832773 or Dave Saville on 01527 570094.
