SENIOR figures from St Richard's Hospice and Walton Marine, owners of Upton upon Severn Marina, will be giving talks at a meeting in Upton on July 8.
Upton Tourism and Trade Association (TTA) has organised the meeting in response to questions from individuals and rumours circulating.
Chairman Bill Dovey told Monday night's meeting of the association's executive committee he had heard a petition has been circulated among the town's traders falsely claiming that the new development at Upton Marina would contain more shops.
He expressed concern that people might be fooled into opposing the development and has invited Walton managing director Mike Cook to talk at the meeting.
Barney Price, director of St Richard's Hospice, will also be on hand to give a talk and answer questions at the meeting in the Castaways at the Swan Hotel on Waterside.
He has been invited by the TTA following que-ries about the charity's new shop in Old Street.
The meeting is at 7.30 and is open to anyone.
