TWO Bromsgrove girls have helped Worcester U16s girls rugby team retain their national sevens title at Southampton University.
Alice Richardson, from Astwood Bank, and Broughton Green's Natalie Clifford were part of the squad that won all seven games for the title.
The team scored 233 points in total and conceded just seven in reply, winning the final 36-7 against Petersfield.
Richardson was the top scorer at the event, claiming 113 points while the pair both scored tries in the final.
Droitwich RFC U16s girls also made their mark in their first full season, winning the plate competition.
They defeated Oxford Barbarians 17-7 in the final with tries from Lucy Pomroy, Sybil Bjuinsters and Ruth Clewer.
Coach Mark Edwards was delighted with the results, having looked after both teams for some of the season.
