DEAR EDITOR - I and my fellow Droitwich Spa town councillors would like to thank the Young Firefighters Association for their efforts in cleaning graffiti from the railway bridge on the A38 and, in particular, their valiant attempts to clean the Saltworkers' statue in Victoria Square.
I am amazed to see a team of what, at first sight, appeared to be 'abominable snowmen' working in the town! It was, in fact, the Young Firefighters who, with the permission of their station officer and supervisors, had donned protective clothing in order to carry out this work.
The efforts of these young people should be applauded; they are a credit to the town and an excellent example to other youngsters.
Cllr T A Spencer,
Mayor of Droitwich Spa,
Droitwich Spa Town Council.
