CRUMBLING batting cost Cookley dear as they slumped to a Worcestershire Saturday League Division Two defeat at Eastnor.
They are third from bottom in the table after a four-wicket defeat which saw them post just 90 runs.
Cookley were dumped out of the National Village Knockout Cup the previous week by reigning regional champions Colwall.
And at the weekend they were undone again, this time by the tricky spin bowling of Jim Sandford who claimed 5-20.
The defeat left Cookley with only two points but they are still 16 away from bottom club Lye and are close to Worcester Nomads and local rivals Bewdley.
Cookley 90, Eastnor 91-6.
Martin Goode scored 41 runs as Cookley seconds pinched a losing draw at home to struggling Eastnor.
They had earlier been set a challenging target of 192 but fell well short with just one wicket remaining.
Eastnor 191-6, Cookley 144-9.
Fixtures, Saturday: Cookley 1sts v Stourport, Stourport v 2nds (both 2pm).
