AN Italian man employed by a firm sub-contracted to install new dyeing equipment at a Kidderminster carpet factory has had a foot amputated following a horrific industrial accident.
The man's foot and lower leg were severely injured and his right shoulder broken in the incident which happened at Brintons, Stourport Road, just after midday last Thursday.
The victim, who has not been named, was flown by Air Ambulance to Selly Oak Hospital, Birmingham, where he underwent surgery including the amputation of the damaged foot.
He is now recovering and his wife has flown from Italy to be with him.
