A MIXED choir up against older rivals has impressed judges at a final of a singing competition.
Stourport's Burlish Middle School entered for the second time the biennial Sainsbury's Choir of the Year and travelled to Bristol with 11 other choirs for the regional final.
"There were some very nice things said about us - that we had good potential and we produced lots of nice singing," said head of music Jean Fry.
She added: "Our choir, 70 children from years nine to 13, had to sing in the up-to-16s section. We did an African song in three parts, one was a quiet wintery song and one a mixture of two well-known songs."
