ATHLETICS: Amazing Feet Running Club's Brian Humphries spent the weekend collecting winners' trophies despite appalling weather conditions.
In the club's annual handicap race over 3.5 miles in Wyre Forest, Humphries tore round from a next to last starting position to finish in seventh place.
Humphries took the trophy for fastest man on the night in 22 minutes 12 seconds.
Two days later, he was at it again, collecting the trophy for first place in the Warndon Jubilee 10km fun run in 37-05.
Other club members running in a disappointing turn-out were David Pye (31st in 48-43), Andrew Pritchard (53rd in 57-10) and Michael Heasman (60th in one hour 05-15).
Pye's wife Jane finished 30th in 48.42, while Maureen Heasman was 55th in the 5km in 37-25.
Other trophy winners in the Inter-Club Handicap race were Sam Hatton, Irene Sanders and Peter Glover.
Hatton was fastest lady on the night in 31-41, I Sanders was first lady to finish in 33-08 and Glover was the first man in 31-27.
Eddie Sanders finished in 38-52 at the Two Castles 10km event between Warwick and Kenilworth Castles, just ahead of club-mate Chris Miles in 39-26.
I Sanders ran 58-04, while E Sanders earlier recorded 39-40 in the second contest of the Worcestershire midweek 10km race league which also involved Humphries, John Amos and Debbie Sault.
The previous weekend, E Sanders completed the five-mile Great Welsh Run in a hot Cardiff in 30 minutes 44 seconds.
Sanders, whose wife Irene finished in 45-55, then completed the Chasewater Jubilee 10km in heavy rain two days later in 39-10.
Also running for the club were Richard Baker (48-18), Lindsay Pulley (51-27), Colin Pheasant (53-01) and I Sanders (58-15).
At Derwent Valley, Humphries ran 26-20 to end up 17th in Saturday's 4.2-mile fell race.
Humphries was followed by Heather Harrison (100th in 48-34) and Jackie Hughes (101st in the same time).
In the Milford five road race, Humphries improved to 12th in 32-25 with Harrison 67th in 56-51.
Harrison was 67th in 42-22 at the tough Rowsley four-mile hill race with Hughes 70th in 46-35.
