LIVING legends after more than 40 years in the business, the Temperance Seven are coming to Worcester's Huntingdon Hall.
The band's original members have long sinceleft, but the current members have carried on in the long tradition of the band and notched up more than 180 years of service.
It could be the elegance or their deadpan tomfoolery or the band's inimitable sound, but the Temperance Seven still hold true to the same sound they had in the 1960s - one which was already 40 years out of date by then.
The current membership, led by Captain Chris Buckley on sousaphone, also include Flight Commander Patrick Rixon on valve trombone, the Right Honourable John Tucker QC on cornet, clarinet and alto sax, Private Willie Entwhistle, Count Geoffrey Simkins on alto and baritone sax, Michael Grimsargh Deighan (banjo, guitar and ukelele), Dr Warren Shifty Latham (grand jazz percussion kit) and Colonel Alexander Hitchcock Galloway (whispering megaphone refrains).
The Temperance Seven are at Huntingdon on Saturday, July 6.
