VALE football fans face another nervous 90 minutes when England line up for their next World Cup match.
After a heroic victory against Argentina last Friday the team made it through to the second round of the competition with a 0-0 draw yesterday.
The celebrations after that game were never likely to match the scenes of jubilation after the Argentina game, which saw crowds of people pouring from pubs and clubs onto the streets to celebrate.
Scores of flag-waving fans gathered on Port Street, Evesham, after watching the game in the Swan Inn. Among the fans was Northwick Road resident Ian Jervis. "The atmosphere was brilliant," he said.
Now the team face Denmark in a 12.30pm kick-off on Saturday for a place in the quarter final.
