THE Friends of Abbey Park First and Nursery School Pershore would like to say a big 'Thank You' to everyone who helped our Float to win a First prize at the carnival on June 3.
As well as all the parents and children who worked so hard to put together our tribute to 1950's Children's TV, we particularly want to thank the many trades people and citizens of Pershore for their generosity, advice and help.
We had a magnificent variety of help, everything from the float vehicle itself to generators, fixing materials, cardboard, paper, material for costumes and decorations to removing our rubbish, making cups of tea and providing practical help and advice!
It's great to know that so many people are willing to help our school. We recently had a wonderful May Fayre for which we also received magnificent donations of prizes from Pershore traders. Thank you again.
We all hope that this is not the last carnival. The children had a wonderful time despite the showers and enjoyed waving to the large crowds.
Who says Carnivals are a thing of the past?
It was a great day rounded off with the evening concert and picnic in the park, an event that spanned the generations. Well done Pershore.
AGNES TOMLINSON, (the Friends of Abbey Park First), Manor Gardens, Pershore.
