THE recalled John Shackleton and Colin Buckle inspired high-flying Stourport to a gritty league victory at home to Feckenham.
Shackleton and Buckle were brought back from the seconds team to great effect as the town side continued their impressive league form and overtook Saturday's opponents in the table.
Feckenham were asked to bat on a damp Walshes Meadow wicket but they made solid early progress despite two wickets for Andy Platt.
However, the introduction of Buckle turned the game with his haul of 5-32 leading to Feckenham collapsing to 128 all out and crucially donating nine overs to Stourport.
The home side found conditions no easier and slumped to 12-3 before Shackleton gradually took control against a disciplined bowling attack.
He dominated a series of partnerships with Chris Hanks, Ian Delo and Jim Cook but Feckenham battled bravely.
And it was not until the 58th over that Stourport edged home with Shackleton unbeaten on 74.
Feckenham 128, Stourport 129-7.
The seconds' top-of-the-table clash at Feckenham was abandoned due to a waterlogged wicket.
Fixtures, Saturday: Cookley v Stourport 1sts, 2nds v Cookley (both 2pm).
