WORCESTER'S very own annual festival looks set to start in summer next year after a promising first meeting.
The director of Huntingdon Hall, Chris Jaeger, invited representatives from organisations all over the city for an initial meeting into the viability of a festival.
"There were lots of people representing lots of organisations," Mr Jaeger said.
"There was a very positive feel about the whole meeting. And everybody was very much in favour of moving forward, with Huntingdon Hall taking up the reins and going full out to make a fantastic festival."
Around 50 representatives attended the meeting on Monday, June 10, from organisations such as the city council, the CrownGate shopping centre, Worcester Twinning Association, CAMRA, Dancefest, the Swan Theatre and the Cathedral.
Huntingdon Hall would act as organiser and box office but the events would be held throughout the area and range from arts events, to sport and children's activities.
Radio Wyvern has also announced it plans to make its XS and classical concerts annual events.
"We would welcome them with open arms," said Mr Jaeger.
