PUPILS at a Droitwich first school are busy rehearsing their end-of-term play to prove why they were awarded a top arts prize.
St Peter's CE First School has received a gold Artsmark award for its wide provision of the arts.
At the end of this term, Year Four pupils will be turning into the mob when they put on Bugsy Malone.
"We're extremely proud of getting this award," said Fiona O'Connor, class teacher and arts co-ordinator at the Church Lane school.
"It's something that goes throughout the whole school.
"We try and incorporate the arts whenever we can, such as using drama in history or science lessons."
The school is also holding an arts week next month on the theme of North American Indians
"We're really pleased getting gold because it shows our commitments to the arts in the wider curriculum," said Mrs O'Connor.
"There seems to be plenty of budding actors in the school."
