A RESOUNDING success after a lot of hard work and planning for the Golden Jubilee picnic held at Millers Court, Birtsmorton, on June 1. The rain clouds kept away allowing everyone to enjoy all the fun and games during the afternoon and evening. Thank you to everyone who so generously donated raffle prizes, supplied cakes and helped in any way. Celebratory coins were presented to under 11s in the parish by Birtsmorton Parish Council. The council would also like to thank the Newton family for their hospitality and generosity in allowing this event to take place at their home.

This Sunday, June 16, beginning at 2pm, Birtsmorton Court gardens will be open during the afternoon until 5.30pm. Come and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the countryside and these magnificent gardens, enjoy one of our special teas in the Motor House and visit our beautiful parish church. Proceeds from the teas will go towards the upkeep of our church. Entrance to the gardens (£3) will go to the National Gardens Scheme. If you would like to help us serve teas or bake a cake or cookies this would be very much appreciated. Phone me on (01684) 833287.
