DURING the last financial year Bromsberrow Parish Council met eight times and at the annual meeting the chairman thanked the parish hall committee for the use of the hall free of charge. He also thanked the deputy chairman, the planning committee and the clerk for the work they had done. The parish council had been described by the Countryside Agency as "vibrant" and they have decided to follow the Government initiative and become a Quality Council.

The huge backlog of litter, which has not been collected from the roadside over the last few years, has been successfully cleaned up by the parish council and the work needs to continue. The village hall extension has been completed within budget and the total lottery grant of £110,000 had been received. The showers and bar are also complete and volunteers have partially completed decoration but more volunteers are needed. Bookings are improving but support for the village hall events in general are very poor. Reports were given from the head teacher of Bromsberrow St Mary's School, Neighbourhood Watch and district and county councillors. In the police report, crime figures showed the main increase to be of theft from vehicles and static tanks of diesel fuel and heating oil, power tools etc from sheds and garages. The mobile police station is well used by residents of the parish and others. With the 30mph speed limit implementation through the village, speed checks have been carried out and offenders reported.

Bromsberrow St Mary's School has been presented with a School Achievement Award for improvements in standards over the last few years. The school's nature team came so close to winning in the area final with only two points in it. Six new football goals, new footballs and a kit for football ideas have been received by the school as a result of Mrs Malone and Mrs Brandwood going to football training for teachers.

The jumble sale for St Michael's Hospice organised by Mrs Ann Boswell is on June 29 in the village hall.
