A CAVALCADE of Harley-Davidsons escorted one of Upton's most prominent canine residents to his final resting place on Wednesday.
Harry, the dog owned by Paul "Rev" Mitchell, of Rev's Hog Motorcycles, was buried beneath his favourite spot in the yard at Upton's Harley-Davidson specialist.
A memorial seat was also set to be erected there.
Mr Mitchell said the nine-year-old collie, who was famous for wearing a bandana, was known around town for his habit of greeting people alighting from boats.
"He knew more people than me," he said. "It's quite unusual for a dog to know more people than his owner!"
Harry had to be put down on Thursday (June 6) after a battle with cancer.
Mr Mitchell paid tribute to the efforts of staff at Stocks Veterinary Centre, in New Street, from where the procession started.
He described Harry as "fun-loving and outgoing" and said he would be missed, as he used to accompany his owner "99 per cent of the time".
