RESIDENTS from Ramsons Close and May Bank are to form a residents' association to address the community's concerns.
The move was agreed after 17 people turned out to a meeting organised by Elgar Housing Association at Barnard's Green Cricket Club on Monday.
Attendees raised concerns including dog mess on the field adjoining the estate and the issue of children playing in the road.
The meeting heard the two issues were related, and that the dog mess on the field led to children playing on the road.
During the informal meeting, Elgar's tenant participation officer Steve Main explained the benefits of forming a bona fide residents' association. He said it would provide a channel for residents' views, and would be recognised by both Malvern Hills district and Malvern town councils.
A previous association had been formed some years previously, but folded after leading members passed away or moved out of the area.
It was decided on a show of hands that an association should be formed. It was agreed that tenants in all 59 properties on the estate would be informed of the plans and a committee elected at the next meeting on Monday, June 24.
The meeting is to be held at the cricket club and the skittle alley will be opened to keep children amused.
"It's all about benefiting the area for the kids," said resident Kathy Thomas, who helped to set up the meeting.
"We've got a big open field, we want to do something on it for the summer. We need the backing from Elgar and if we're more recognised then we've got to do these things. A little bit of time and effort from everyone should be worth it."
