FUNDRAISERS have helped bring in £19,000 for Malvern Hills Homeless Young Adult Trust (MHHYAT), which supports needy young people by helping them learn essential life skills.
Trust chairman Canon Bill Richards said he wanted to thank those who gave donations, took part in the annual sleep-out, or bought the MHHYAT calendar and Christmas cards.
"We wanted to express our gratitude for the support the public has given us," he said. "We're also grateful to those on the fundraising committee who have worked hard and are still running events this summer."
Young adults who have now left the Malvern Link 12-bed Foyer, where they can live up to two years and receive lifeskills training, have also been helped with donations of furniture and kitchen equipment for their first independent homes.
An increasing number of outsiders using MHHYAT's expanding training facilities, with gateway classes in computing and finding employment, are also helping to boost income to the charity's annual £250,000 budget.
