A FORMER Upper Sapey resident will return to her Herefordshire roots this month to perform in an Alan Bennett Talking Head monologue at Bromyard's Conquest Theatre.
On June 20 and 21, former Alice Ottley Girl's School pupil Josie Burns plays the part of Lesley, an actress experiencing her first taste of stardom, in Her Big Chance.
Since graduating from Liverpool University, Josie has claimed a number of leading roles in plays including Bugsy Malone at Worcester, The Importance of Being Earnest at Liverpool and Dirty Linen at Buxton Festival.
Josie also appeared in a touring production of How to Remember Everything You Thought You'd Forgotten, a foray in to the world of Theatre of the Absurd.
The actress recently formed Madeup Productions with fellow Liverpool graduate Ben J Rigby and it is that new company who will perform three short plays in Bromyard.
As well as Her Big Chance, they include Playing Sandwiches about a hard working, loving husband with a dark secret and John Mortimer's The Dock Brief, a witty satire about an unsuccessful barrister.
Performances begin at 8pm. Tickets are £5/£6, on 01885 488575.
