FORMER EastEnders, Dr Who and Tenko star Louise Jameson arrives in town this month to star in The Ghost Train at the Malvern Theatres.
Arnold Ridley's play, first produced in 1925, tells the story of a foolish man who accidentally strands six passengers at a small Cornish wayside station. Despite the stationmaster's warnings of a ghost train, they decide to stay the night in the waiting room, but soon regret their decision. The production also stars Hi-De-Hi's Jeffrey Holland and Henry McGee from The Benny Hill Show.
Louise's role as one of the passengers is one not unfamiliar to her, as she originally starred in the play 30 years ago.
"It's a fantastic yarn. I was too young to play it then, and I'm too old for it now!" she said.
She added the wealth of experience she has since gained meant she appr-oached the character in a totally different way this time around.
"I've just learned so much over the years," she said.
Louise has decades of experience in both television and on the stage and also teaches at drama college.
"What has taught me so much is teaching, it really made me stand up and take notice of the way I work," she said.
"I prefer telly for the bank balance, and stage for the artistic satisfaction!" she said.
The Ghost Train runs from Monday, June 24, to Saturday, June 29, at 8pm, with matinees on Wednesday and Saturday at 2.30pm. Tickets start at £12, available from the box office on 01684 892277.
