OLYMPIC gold medallist sprinter Kriss Akabusi MBE is racing to the Faithful City to raise vital funds for children in Nigeria.
Now a leading motivational speaker, Kriss will be a guest presenter at the Worcester Breakfast Club on Friday, June 28. On the same evening he will be speaking at the club's charity auction and dinner at Worcester Rugby Club.
Around 300 members of the local business community are already attending the early morning speech and larger numbers are expected for the evening's entertainment.
While Kriss is giving his time for free, the proceeds from both events are being donated to the charity he founded AkabusiNigeria.
He is aiming to build a children's hospital in the country, to help prevent water borne diseases and to help poverty struck rural communities.
"I am delighted to be back in the Worcester area and involved in these opportunities with the Worcester Breakfast Club," said Kriss commenting on both events.
"My aim is to motivate in both our business and personal lives, have a good laugh and tell the audience about my Olympic experiences," said Kriss.
"We hope the day of events will raise funds for the Nigerian children, who greatly need our help and who are not as lucky as we are."
For further details on booking tickets for Kriss' breakfast meeting (tickets £15 for members and £20 for non members) and the charity auction and dinner (tickets £30 per person including three course meal) call Roy Woolridge, Worcester Breakfast Club chairman on 01905 612255.
