THE Rotary Club of Worcester South has gathered equipment to be shipped off to a Ugandan hospital.
Last year, the club sent a second-hand ambulance to Uganda as part of an ongoing relationship with fellow members in Massindi.
"They have a hospital there which has very limited resources," said John Davison, president of Rotary Club Worcester South.
Substantial
"It serves a substantial area - we are talking about 400,000 people.
"Before last year they didn't even have an ambulance."
This year, the group is sending out hospital equipment including beds, trolleys and stands for drips.
"It's not high-tech equipment because we were advised by a doctor, who worked in Uganda, that this sort of equipment would be of most use," said Mr Davison.
"We've spent about £1,500 and then you've got the shipping costs."
"We expect to send it out over the next couple of months."
Another Rotary club, Hereford Wye Valley, will be sending a second ambulance to Massindi later this month.
