A SLAUGHTERMAN and butcher were embroiled in a scuffle in Worcester after a racist comment was hurled at a taxi driver.
The fight started at around 1.30am on Tuesday, January 15 in Angel Place, Worcester magistrates heard.
It involved taxi driver Gamran Ali, slaughterman Richard Brooke, butchers Michael Jeynes and Darren Jeynes, said Mark Soper, prosecuting.
"Mr Ali was in Angel Place and someone made some sort of comment of a racial nature towards him," he said.
Accusations
"A fight broke out, quite simply, and there are various accusations as to who did what.
"There was a suggestion that a weapon was used, but not as to who used it."
Michael Jeynes, aged 43, of Weyburn Close; Darren Jeynes, aged 22, of Pitchcroft Lane; Ali, aged 23, of Canterbury Road, all of Worcester; and Brooke, aged 29, of Bow Brook Cottages, Peopleton, near Pershore, all agreed to be bound over for a year in the sum of £250.
The charges of using threatening and abusive behaviour, which had been levelled against them, were dismissed.
