TIBBERTON First School had a right royal time at its jubilee-themed fete.
Henry VIII, otherwise known as school governor Christopher Hartwright, delighted hundreds of visitors when he arrived to perform the official opening on Saturday.
"We started at 2pm, but deferred the official opening until 3pm to give all the football fans time to get here," said headteacher Heather Gratland.
"We had a TV for all the stalwart helpers to watch the game."
The fete is held annually to raise funds for extra facilities for the children, playground equipment and subsidise trips.
"We raised between £1,000 and £1,100, which is good considering we were up against the football and only have 59 pupils," said Mrs Gratland.
"Lots of past pupils came back to visit and people from the village came."
As well as stalls, a coconut shy, beat the goalie, and a tombola there was also a raffle with a first prize of £100, a £75 hamper of food, curtains and blinds worth £200, rugby tickets, and meals out.
