HEREFORDSHIRE scored their first win in this season's ECB 38-County Cup with a convincing 156-run success over Gloucestershire Cricket Board at Bristol University.
They rattled up an impressive 245-7 in their 50 overs. After openers Harshad Patel (43) and Paul Lazenbury (55) had added 106 for the first wicket, Ismail Dawood (63) and skipper Chris Boroughs (32) continued the good work.
The home side never recovered from losing a wicket to the first ball of their reply and were eventually bowled out for just 89, Simon Roberts (3-23), Mark Horrocks (3-29), Kevin Cooper (2-5) and Andy Mason (2-30) doing the damage.
Next Sunday's clash with Worcestershire Cricket Board at Kidderminster is likely to decide the group winners.
