THE theft of a computer in Evesham has prompted police to issue a warning.

The laptop was stolen from a blue van parked in Montfort Street between 6pm last Sunday and 7am on Monday.

Police are now repeating warnings for drivers not to leave valuable items in their cars.

Crime risk manager PC Mike Stephenson said: "Never leave valuables on display in the car, no matter how quickly you will be returning. It only takes a matter of seconds for a thief to smash a window.

"Leaving valuable items, such as computer equipment, on display is far too tempting for thieves and items should be taken from the vehicle whenever it is left."
