TAXI drivers and restaurant workers in the Asian community are being invited to drop in to a clinic for a health check-up.
South Worcestershire Primary Care Trust has set up a drop-in session at The Kitchen in Stanley Road, Worcester, between 5pm and 7pm.
Health professionals will be on site to discuss health issues, carry out basic check-ups and give advice on good diet and giving up smoking.
Rachel Dodson, of the Trust's health promotion department, said the event was organised after a survey revealed a higher than average level of smoking in the Asian community.
"Men have a tendency to ignore their own health symptoms and avoid visiting their GPs," she said.
"This reluctance leads to late diagnosis and delayed action on issues which could be tackled earlier.
"Initiatives in the past have shown men are happy to accept their health checks, and this initiative provides us with a real opportunity to talk in confidence about health issues, both physical and mental."
