ECO-friendly residents keen to put their waste to good use are being hampered by householders dumping refuse at a recycling site.
Officers in Bromsgrove are worried their efforts to collect recyclable waste at the town's School Drive car park are causing a litter problem.
"While many residents are using the recycling banks properly, others are dumping garden and household rubbish," said Keith James, Bromsgrove's environmental strategy officer.
"The bin was put there for people to dispose of bags used for taking their recyclables to the site. It is there to keep the site tidy - but sadly it's leading to more litter because other people are using it for tipping."
Glass, textiles, books, shoes, cans and paper can all be recycled at the car park.
"It's solely a recycling site and we're encouraged by how many people use it, but it's not a tip and if people don't stop using it in this way, we'll be forced to take the bin away.
Sensible
"We urge residents to be sensible and use the bin for the purpose it was intended.
"Please take heavy garden and household rubbish to the proper tips available in the district."
If anyone has any comments or suggestions to make about recycling facilities in the district, they should contact Mr James or Richard Johnson on 01527 881418 or 01527 881443.
