COULD the Anglican Communion, founded by the Church of England, break up?

Watching Jeremy Paxman on his TV show, (Monday, June 10) viewers listened to Archbishop Tutu waffle about the church being a democracy.

He has forgotten it is theocratic, not democratic.

Today, churchgoers believe that to gather together to say prayers and sing hymns is a nice way to become emotional at the words and music of a beautiful hymn. But that emotion requires to be shown in the way they live.

As in Christ's day, so with the life of the church today. Churchgoers bubble over at the singing of a beautiful hymn, but the reality is they are offering God only-lip service.

What Christ demands of his church is a harder and more searching thing. This is the reality of moral allegiance - in other words, moral leadership.

For the past 30 years, this has been totally lacking from bishops and others.

They have approved of the ordination of homosexuals and now they say cannabis should be legalised, betraying the unreality of their belief.

The reality is the church of today pays only lip service to God.
