REGARDING your feature headlined "Drunk? Aggressive? That'll be a student" (Phillpott File, June 10) I suggest that Mr Phillpott lights a candle and doesn't just complain about the darkness.
I agree that it is outrageous that some students create a negative reputation for the majority by their drunken, anti-social and destructive behaviour early on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
We might do better than condemn all students by considering that we, as adults, are responsible for raising children and creating the culture in which they grow.
If we consider that we are failing to socialise them or if we consider that the commercial interest of selling affordable alcohol to irresponsible youngsters is less important, then we might see things differently.
Adults might begin to put their glass houses in order before throwing stones or writing whinging articles castigating victims turned offenders.
Adults might exercise their cerebral waste ground and identify the causes of this phenomenon and make positive recommendations for remedial action.
