DESIGN and technology students are getting set for the Audi Young Designer of the Year Awards.
Open to second year A-level students, the local round of the awards will be held at Listers Audi Worcester, in Bromyard Road, tomorrow.
The overall national winner will spend four weeks at an Audi design centre studying with the German manufacturer's design team.
He or she will also receive paid work experience in the UK or USA, during all university holidays, plus a £500 bursary every year while at university.
It is also likely that the winner, depending on examination results, will be offered employment with the product development company, Virdev.
A spokesman said there had already been a large number of entries from Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
"As part of the A-level curriculum, students are required to design a product that is innovative, or to create an improvement to an existing product," he said.
"It's this design that will be put forward for the Audi Design Foundation Young Designer of the Year Award.
The national final is due to take place in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear, in September.
