A TEACHER has been left without vital notes after thieves broke into his school and stole his laptop.

Paul McGuire is now facing the prospect of an Ofsted inspection next week without nine months work of preparation that was on the computer.

The laptop, along with two mobile phones, was taken from a classroom at Stourminster school in Kidderminster between 3.30pm and 4.45pm on Thursday, June 13 while Mr McGuire was supervising children leaving the school.

When he returned to his classroom, he noticed his computer, worth around £1,000, had disappeared.

Mr McGuire, ICT co-ordinator at the Comberton Road special school, is now appealing for the safe return of the computer so he can do his best during the Ofsted inspection.

"The computer holds a record of everything I have done here since I started in October," he said.

"We have done so much and not to be able to show the Ofsted inspectors where we have come from, and what we have achieved, is very disappointing.

"If the people who took the laptop have any conscience at all, they will return the computer.

"They have not only put me in a difficult position, but the school will suffer as well, because it is now harder to demonstrate what we can do.

The school caters for around 150 pupils from age 10 to 16 who have special needs.

At the time the computer was stolen, Mr McGuire was working on creating individual records for all the children saying what they could do with computers.

It also contained training records for other teachers, as well as records of all the work done with children throughout the school year.

Kidderminster police are appealing for witnesses to the theft.
