POLICE are warning drivers not to leave valuable items on display in their cars after computer equipment was stolen from two cars on the same night.
A palm-held computer and digital camera, with a combined value of £500, were taken from a Fiat Morea estate car in Bentham Avenue, Warndon Villages, during the night on Sunday, June 16.
The thieves had smashed one of the car's windows.
A laptop computer was stolen between 6pm on Sunday, June 16 and 7am on Monday, June 17 by thieves who broke into a blue van parked in Montfort Road, Evesham.
Crime risk manager PC Mike Stephenson said it was dangerous to leave valuables on display for any length of time.
"It only takes a matter of seconds for a thief to break a window, and leaving valuable items such as laptop computers on display is far too tempting for thieves," he said.
"If it is impossible to take belongings with you, then lock them out of sight in the boot."
Anyone with information about either of the thefts should call police on 01905 723888, quoting c/596211, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
