STUDENTS planning to study at University College Worcester are being invited to an open day.
"As well as being an essential tool of all higher education establishments, the open day really does give us the chance to meet people and show them around the facilities we have here," said Dorma Urwin, principal.
"It allows us to confirm the good things they may have heard about us and to explode some of the myths about going away to university that some younger people may have locked away in the back of their minds.
"It can be a daunting prospect for some young people and we take pride here in being a very warm and welcoming place that offers the kind of support that more nervous students will find reassuring."
UCW has made a name for itself in a number of areas, including its sports facilities.
"To get the type of results we do we have to work harder and be more innovative than many other universities and university colleges," said Pam Stubbs, head of marketing at UCW.
"This is recognised and welcomed by our current students and attracts a lot of new students to us, year on year."
The open day, at the Henwick Road campus, starts at 10am and runs until 3pm on Saturday, June 22. For more information, call 01905 855141.
