SIXTY pupils from a Bromsgrove school have been learning about power after meeting up with a former Olympic highjumper.
Geoff Parsons, who represented Great Britain at the 1984 and 1988 summer games, spent time with children at Hunters Hill School, in Spirehouse Lane, at an npower-sponsored power day last Thursday.
The day featured a series of workshops about power, combining hands-on activities, video presentations and team challenges.
Each workshop helped the children discover more about teamwork, renewable energy, health and fitness and the power of the mind.
Hunters Hill School won the day for their school after winning an inter-school Batak board challenge.
The challenge invited teachers across the country to test their reflexes by turning off lights at random by touch with the quickest winning.
Helen Marshall, community relations officer at npower, said: "Judging by their reactions, the pupils at Hunters Hill enjoyed the activities very much, especially the Batak board, which is great fun but not as easy as it looks."
