A £500,000 residential care project offering short-term breaks for people with special needs will officially be unveiled in Batchley on Friday.
The scheme, in Lock Close, has been set up by various agencies from the public and private sector, including Redditch Council, Worcestershire County Council, Bourneville Village Trust, The Home Farm Trust, The Development Trust and Mencap.
Redditch Council donated the land to allow the facility to be built after Mencap launched a campaign to improve respite services.
Most of the funding for the project has come form the Bourneville Trust and the Development Trust and the Home Farm Trust will manage and provide the respite service together with Worcestershire County Council.
