BARNT Green Spartak will have to settle for another season in Midland Combination division two after being denied promotion.
The club, who finished fourth last season, was not chosen for the final place in division one for next season.
Spartak had hoped to get the nod ahead of third place Enville but they too were unsuccessful as the final berth was awarded to Bloxwich Town from the Midland Combination Reserves.
Manager GJ Singh was obviously disappointed but knows his side should have made promotion easier on themselves.
He said: "Teams like us have been in the league for five or six years trying to work our way up.
"But I'm not complaining too much as it was our fault we didn't finish in the top two."
Barnt Green have pencilled in four teams as part of their pre-season warm-up. Fairfield Villa, Knowle, Massey Ferguson and Central Ajax will all provide opposition for Spartak in the next few weeks.
