YOUNGSTERS from a Droitwich school got the chance to show off their rugby skills by winning an inter-school tournament.

Chawson First School, in Wych Road, won Droitwich Spa Rugby Club's annual school tag tournament for eight and nine-year-olds on Wednesday, June 12.

Chawson beat Bengeworth 20-15 in the final despite being 10-0 behind at one stage.

Ten teams entered including squads from Westlands, St Peter's, St Joseph's and Ombersley first schools.

Teams were split into two groups with the top team in each group playing each other in the final.

Worcester RFC player and former Scottish international Craig Chalmers presented the winners shield.

Both finalists received a bag of tag belts donated by Droitwich Rugby Club & the Rugby Football Union.
