Three star

THIS album would have warranted a higher star rating without the unnecessary swearing in the opening rap Natural High.

OK, Ms Dynamite was trying to make the point that she did not need to partake in mind-bending drugs because music gave a natural high but it could have been put a little more eloquently.

Relatively new to these shores, Ms Dynamite has exploded onto the scene with the popular chart hit It Takes More which is included on the 16-track album.

On first impressions you think this album is going to full of songs with the same rhythm and beat all sounding much of a muchness.

But I was wrong. It is really good and her style and voice is pleasantly unique and a far cry from the popular but rather repetitive dross in today's music scene.

It includes a good mix of slower and more upbeat tunes and it was great to see they had been penned by Ms Dynamite herself, so you know the songs mean something to her.

Ghettos, drugs, gunmen, family loyalties and young love are all subjects of songs on this album and I especially liked Anyway You Want It, Brother and A Little Deeper. Well worth a listen.
