A NEW playground has opened in Charford providing a fun and safe environment for young children on the estate.
The Prince's Trust has helped the Family Centre, in Humphrey Avenue, create a fun area for playful youngsters at the rear of its building.
Fresh paints and colourful murals have breathed life into the site, which now boasts a bouncy castle, sand pit, paddling pool, a tent and patio furniture.
Volunteers spent a week giving the play area a makeover and even provided the new equipment.
Family Centre manager Sue Mole is delighted which the transformation.
"Before we just had a fenced off area with a black safety surface. Now it's painted with cartoon characters, there are games painted on the floor and we have stacks of new equipment.
"It really is great and I can't thank the Prince's Trust enough. The children love it," she added.
