A WELL-KNOWN Bromsgrove headteacher is making a life changing career move to Bangkok.
Stephen Robinson, of The Mount School, has announced he is moving to Thailand to run a new international school.
The joint appointment will see him jet into the sunset with his wife and fellow Mount teacher Roz, who will also teach, and the youngest of their three children.
Mr Robinson, aged 43, of Stourbridge Road, Bromsgrove, has led the Mount, in Birmingham Road, for five years.
While the father-of-three said he will be sad to wave goodbye to staff, pupils and parents, he believes the move will be a wonderful opportunity.
"People have been very surprised about our plans but everyone has been very supportive," he told the Advertiser/Messenger.
"I'm expecting Bangkok to be very different to everything I know but all the people I have spoken to have commented on what a wonderful country we are going to and how friendly the people are.
"I know it's going to be very hot and it's quite hard to imagine that we won't need to wear jumpers and warm clothes."
Education at the new school will be taught in English but there will be a mix of nationalities and of course many children of ex-pats.
Mount deputy headteacher Jane Stowe will take over the reins from Mr Robinson in September.
