KINGSLEY College is one of only two high schools in the county to receive an Artsmark gold award.
The college has achieved one of just 566 Artsmark awards across the country from the Arts Council of England.
It recognises schools that demonstrate a commitment to providing arts opportunities and encourages them to work in partnership with artists and arts organisations.
In this second round, 145 schools achieved Artsmark, 181 Artsmark silver and 240 Artsmark gold.
Arts Council of England chief executive Peter Hewitt said Artsmark celebrated the importance of the arts in education and rewarded schools' commitment to introducing children to the arts at an early age.
