BRIAN Hunt says the public has great affection towards the Royal Family.

When the death of the Queen Mother was announced, we were all saddened and our thoughts were with the Queen in her hour of need.

Out of respect for the royal family, the Worcester Labour Party decided to put all canvassing aside for the local elections until after the Queen Mother's funeral.

I felt it was a shame that Brian Hunt's colleagues didn't feel the same way and continued to canvass, oblivious to other people's feeling.

There again, I suppose that is what being Independent is all about - do whatever you want to do and be accountable for nothing.

DAWN TURNER,

Worcester.
