POLICE are taking action after repeated complaints about yobs in an area of Alcester.
Residents near Gas House Lane have voiced concern about the activities of drunken troublemakers on weekend evenings.
Problems include cars and property being vandalised, people screaming and swearing, car bonnets being jumped on and pavements left covered in smashed glass and vomit.
High-profile policing has been implemented at key times using reactive staff, the Community Beat Officer and special constables.
Police are also liaising with CCTV operators to identify likely offenders.
Councillor Adrian Smart wrote to the police about the disturbing incidents.
Resident Tony Nicholls, who returned to the town after a five-year absence, said Alcester needed to rid itself of the bad elements.
Insp Tim Bailey said measures recently implemented should deter late-night trouble.
