ROWNEY Green residents are being asked to rally round to save their two long-standing postmen.
Village magazine The Calling Oak published a 'save our postmen' appeal which said the village was about to lose them due to a revision at the Rednal Delivery Office.
It stated David Higgs had delivered to Gravel Pit Lane and Chapel Lane for the past 29 years and Robert Dudley to the rest of Rowney Green for 10 years and invited residents to put their views in writing to Royal Mail.
But a Royal Mail spokesman dismissed concern as 'pure speculation' and said although a revision was planned for the office, it had not taken place.
The spokesman stressed the repicks based on seniority were not imposed by management but were encouraged and supported by the Communication Workers Union .
