The June Meeting took the form of a Royal Garden Party to celebrate the Golden Jubilee.
Unfortunately it was rather a wet evening so it was just as well that the garden party was to be held indoors at the village hall. Members were dressed in their very best outfits with hats and gloves to match and the hall looked very festive decorated with bunting, flags, and flowers and there was woodland music playing in the background.
Business matters were dealt with quickly then Josie Morgan gave a short report on the Lucy Hingley Lecture and Joan Johnson reported on the spring craft fair where members' entries did very well.
Jill Warner told members that Wythall had won the Group Quiz.
Quite a few members had formed teams to serve teas at the Wythall Village Jubilee celebrations at Wythall Park.
£108 had been taken just selling teas and cakes and the profits from the day would go towards the children's play park.
There was a buffet of sandwiches, cakes and sparkling 'wine' to toast the Queen's health. A large iced golden cake made by Rosemary Beeston and Jane Eden was cut by Doreen Ansell, one of the longest serving members who had just returned after a spell of ill health.
