ALTHOUGH her colleague Stephen Byers has recently spun himself out of a job, Jacqui Smith MP spins on.
Within days of Byers' departure, she serves up more disingenuous nonsense about education expenditure in her Letter from Westminster (Advertiser, May 29).
A few days later, headteachers are warning of teacher redundancies because her Government has not delivered.
As for the state of the finances of further education colleges, she seems to know nothing.
I challenge her to put all the facts in a full, frank report to the electorate.
Some actual examples of what this Government has done to FE colleges would be interesting, especially the bankrupted ones.
Education, Education, Education seems to be no more than Tax, Tax, Tax.
After more than five years of this Government, there has been no significant improvements in education, health, transport, pensions and welfare; in fact the very opposite.
In all these fields we are storing up major problems for tomorrow.
If Ms Smith were to take up my challenge she might also be a little more explicit about her position regarding the Queen - her recent comments are mealy mouthed to say the least.
Finally, if you must print Ms Smith's propaganda, then at least give it an honest title. Fairytales from Millbank comes to mind.
