I WRITE in response to your correspondent's letter about magpies and the suggestion of culling (Advertiser, June 12).

Man's history is littered with the errors of trying to interfere with nature to preserve a part of it he likes or wants.

Nature is beautiful but it is also cruel. We interfere, sometimes, at our peril. Better to leave well alone.
