REGARDING the 'vandalism' being done by Redditch Council toward trees and shrubbery in the Batchley area, we now have an addition to it.
The beautiful oak tree on the island outside Batchley First School has been truly butchered.
I phoned Batchley Neighbourhood Office to enquire why and was told a branch had fallen off because of the wind.
When workers went to remove it, they noticed the branch was partially hollow through the middle.
An inspector was sent for who gave permission for the rest of the tree to be cut down for safety.
I have made a photographic record of this. Apart from one branch with a small hole through the middle, the rest are quite sound.
Another beautiful tree bites the dust.
